Performance Features
A solvent-resistant diazo UV polymer emulsion for producing high-quality printing plates. Its exceptional resolution makes it ideal for four-color halftone printing, fine text, and fine line reproduction, with easy plate stripping. AZOCOL POLY-PLUS S/3 is designed for producing high-quality, solvent-resistant templates. Its exceptional resolution and outstanding bridging capability make it highly suitable for four-color halftone printing, fine text, and graphics (circuit boards, ceramic tile printing, scale plates, etc.). With its good water resistance, it is also suitable for small-volume printing with water-based inks.
Instructions for Use
Sensitization: Use DIAZO (diazo) sensitizer No. 1.
Coating: Use a screen mesh of 120 lines/cm or higher. When applying by hand, ensure a slow and even coating. In some cases, first apply three passes on the printing side. Then coat from the squeegee side to build film thickness, e.g., 3-2, 3-1, etc. Using a KIWOMAT coating machine yields superior results as it achieves uniformity and reproducible film thickness.
Drying: Ensure the film is completely dry before exposure for optimal performance. Drying should occur in a dust-free, well-ventilated oven at 35–40°C. Room-temperature drying reduces print resistance and increases sensitivity to ambient humidity, leading to adverse effects.
Exposure: Plate formation involves UV light curing the film layer in areas not intended for printing. Exposure should be performed under a blue-light lamp with a wavelength of 350–420 nm, though metal halide lamps yield optimal results.
As numerous factors influence the exposure time required for film layer curing, absolute time values cannot be provided here. For optimal reproduction, employ a stepwise exposure method. For maximum print durability, select the longest exposure time that still reproduces fine details. This is particularly important for water-based inks, as extended exposure enhances durability.
Example: Light source: 5000W metal halide lamp, 1 meter distance. Apply with stainless steel doctor blade: 3 coats on printing surface, 1 (3-1) or 4 (3-4) coats on doctor blade surface.
